RENZO PIANO

Dear Sophie -

Before it was in vogue, RENZO PIANO was thinking about conscious architecture and sustainability.

You have had the good fortune to experience a number of his works, including the Academy of Sciences in SF, The Beyeler in Basel & the new additions at LACMA (where we saw the great mid-century design exhibition).

The Pompidou Center in Paris was a collaboration between Piano and Richard Rogers, and you even sighted the NeMo museum from the water in Amsterdam.

Piano was awarded the Pritzker Prize in 1998. His buildings are restrained, beautiful and always express his principles. A major figure of our times.

With love,

Mom
