Your beloved ALVIN LUSTIG designed over 70 dust jackets for New Directions Publishing (one more gorgeous than the next!) and made a significant mark on the development of graphic design and typography. He studied with Frank Lloyd Wright and at Art Center.
It is a tribute to your powers of observation that you found him. Bravo!!!

Dear Sophie -
This is one of the first images I ever saw that touched me. Really touched me. And I knew from that moment on that I would be an artist or somehow related to the arts. Not consciously but in my gut. (It is the first art book that I ever bought).Beyond the beauty of the image, I loved how in one visual Bob Dylan's complexity is crystallized. His dark silhouette, his brilliant far reaching mind.
I later learned that it was created by MILTON GLASER. He is a wonderfully thoughtful designer, a profound person, a funny NY jewish guy. If you have time his interview is very interesting.
