Ah, today is a particularly special day. The Czech photographer, Josef Sudek. A real gift.
Sudek lived in Prague. He started as a bookbinder, but gravitated to photography, and founded the Czech Photographic Society in 1924. One arm was amputated after suffering a WWI injury and was sometimes aided by assistants with his heavy large format camera. Apparently he was shy, never married and had a renowned record collection of classical music says wikipedia.
