Much of our understanding of the Civil War is a result of Mathew Brady's documentation. His journalistic commitment came to be known as photojournalism.
He put his life on the line as many photojournalists do today. Think about the documentation of the war in Iraq for example or the news crews in Libya in the heat of conflict.
I would prefer if you didn't undertake this career.
