Whenever I see a low horizon line with a vast sky I think of Jacob Isaakszoon VAN RUISDAEL.
Van Ruisdael was a dutch painter who lived in Amsterdam (1628 - 1682). He studied with both his father and uncle who were artists and was accepted to a the guild at the age of 18. He was surely an inspiration to the landscape painters who followed in the subsequent centuries.
